Great Denham has held several summer festivals and celebrations during 2012 and 2013.  To see photos of all these events please follow this link

In 2012 there was double the fun with first the Queen's Jubilee which was, of course, followed by the Olympic celebrations.

The Jubilee was a very wet affair, but no-one allowed this to dampen their spirits and the marquees hired "just in case" came into their own. Of course there were bouncy castles, races, crafts, a DJ and giant outdoor games. The face painter was incredibly popular and was never without a queue. Children were given free ice creams and there was a bar for adults, whilst the DJ played music from throughout the years and gave a lovely atmosphere to the whole event. Every child who attended was given a Great Denham Jubilee medal.

Later in the summer, and with very different weather, we all celebrated the Olympics.  Once again lots of entertainment was on offer and to cap it all we had a genuine Olympic torch which was brought along by the person who carried it in the real torch relay.

These events proved so successful, with hundreds of you joining in, that it was decided to try and create an annual event and in 2013 the first Great Denham Summer Festival took place. Even more entertainment was on offer, with pony rides, street dancers, kids entertainer, a DJ and inflatables to name but a few.  There were lots of different stalls including clothes, jewellery and pick and mix sweets and there was also a hog roast and tea tent.

Great Denham Parish Council has given it's support to all of these events, but they could not have happened without the hard work and commitment of all the volunteers and members of Great Denham Residents Association and the Friends of Great Denham (the school's PTA), who gave so freely of their time and for this we thank them.
